Giveaway Winner: Jessica Sosa
Midway through 2022, Betenbough Homes Midland began to discuss a home giveaway in order to give back to the community that has supported them so well for the past 15 years. After hundreds of submissions and a week of public voting through social media, the finalists were handed over to the Midland Betenbough Homes employees to select one winner. The team prayed and voted anonymously over this life-changing decision and selected Jessica Sosa and her three children as the recipients of a brand new Betenbough home in our new Greenwood community, Pecan Grove, valued at more than $360,000!
For many years, Jessica has been a dedicated volunteer at the Children's Advocacy Center and the Rape Crisis Center. Through her volunteering efforts, Jessica was exposed to the realities of the foster care system, and in 2018 she took it upon herself to become certified as a foster parent. Shortly after, two young siblings, a four-year-old girl and a two-year-old boy, were placed in her care. The two children also had an 18-month-old brother who was unable to live with them at the time. Jessica had never thought about adoption, but after fostering for six months, it became a real possibility. She was unable to fathom the idea of these children being separated from each other, so she adopted all three and has been loving and caring for them ever since. On June 23, the Midland Betenbough Homes team invited Jessica to their office for what she believed would be a final interview. They then asked if she would like to see the home that she was in the running for. As Jessica walked through the 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 2,050 square foot new home, dreaming about which bedroom would be for which child, Betenbough Homes employees and a close friend of the Sosa family gathered in the backyard for a big surprise.
