This fall, we had the privilege of partnering with Texas Tech University for two heartfelt initiatives that brought Red Raider spirit and our company values together in a powerful way.
Welcoming Austin Ramford to the Red Raider Family
Through
Team IMPACT, an organization that connects children facing serious or chronic illnesses with college athletic programs, Betenbough Homes proudly supported the match between Texas Tech Football and an exceptional young man: Austin Ramford of Lamesa, Texas.
Austin, who lives with
Williams Syndrome, joined the Red Raider football team for the 2025 season. This experience gave Austin and his family a meaningful platform to raise awareness about the condition and share their joy, strength, and advocacy with a wider community.
This season, Austin has bonded with TTU players and built special relationships with
Coach McGuire and
Coach Martin, who welcomed him wholeheartedly. His family shared how grateful they are — not only for the opportunity Austin received, but also for the way it has allowed
them to encourage and pour into others walking similar journeys.
The partnership was highlighted on November 15 during the Texas Tech vs. UCF game, which served as this season’s official Team IMPACT game. Seeing Austin honored on the field was a reminder of the power of community, kindness, and connection — values our Betenbough team holds close.
Surprise Scholarships
Just one week earlier, on November 8,
Betenbough Homes hosted an exciting “Kick to Win” challenge during a home football game against BYU. One male and one female student were selected from the crowd for the chance to kick a field goal (20 yards for him and 15 yards for her) to each win a $10,000 scholarship.
Although neither kick made it through the uprights, the excitement on the field was far from over. Betenbough Homes surprised both students by awarding them $5,000 scholarships anyway! The reaction from the recipients captured the heart of the moment:
- “Oh my gosh, I can pay off my college!” the young lady exclaimed.
- “Let me shake your hand!” the young man said with a smile as he stepped forward to thank our team.
Moments like these reflect why we love partnering with local educators — we get to invest in future leaders, celebrate their enthusiasm, and remind students that their dreams matter.
